Gaund ka Ladoo
Gaundka ka Ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet that is often made during the wintermonths. It is made using Gaund, which is a resin obtained from the bark of theaxle wood tree, and is believed to have numerous health benefits.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Gaund (resin)
- 1 Cup whole wheat flour
- 1 Cup powdered sugar
- 1 Cup ghee
- 1/2 Cup Dry Fruits (chopped almonds, chopped cashews, raisins)
- 1 tbsp cardamom powder
- 4 tbsp Ghee
Instructions
- Put 4 tablespoons of ghee in a pan to roast the raisins on low heat until they puff up and turn golden brown. Remove it from the pan and allow it to cool.1 Cup Gaund (resin), 4 tbsp Ghee
- In a separate pan, heat the ghee and add the whole wheat flour. Roast on low heat until it turns golden brownand gives off a nutty aroma.1 Cup whole wheat flour, 1 Cup ghee
- Add the powdered sugar, chopped almonds, cashews, raisins, and cardamom powder to the pan and mix well.1 Cup powdered sugar, 1/2 Cup Dry Fruits (chopped almonds, chopped cashews, raisins)
- Turn off the heat and add thepowdered gaundto the mixture. Mix well to combine.
- Allow the mixture to coolslightly and then shape it into small balls (ladoos)using your hands.
- Store the gaundka ladooin an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Be careful when put gaund in pan to puff because it get burnt easily so, don’t heat ghee too much
